...with a vengeance. Over 4 feet in the past week has pushed our mid-mountain base to 75 inches and total snowfall for the season to 244 inches.

Steamboat = Champagne Powder, right? No question. We enjoy more epic days per season than most resorts get in a decade. But, honestly, some of the best days on the hill are on the corduroy. It all starts from the ground up: grooming. The past few days have been sensationally free - sunny skies, wide-open runs and super-G turns all the way down the mountain.

The skiing right now is simply sublime. Snow conditions from top to bottom are the best of the season so far. The weather pattern for the next 5 days indicates that the snow is going to take a break - which is not unusual for mid-January. In return, however, we get the sunniest, bluest skies on the planet. You simply can't beat cold snow, sunshine and wide-open runs. Which reminds me of something I have to do right now...
SKI!
